Vijay

I’m Vijayakumar from Chennai which is my native place and I live in Madipakkam. I’m married, and I have one son. I had worked as a QC in a medical transcription unit called “AVT Infotech Pvt. Ltd.” for five years. Now, currently I’m working in Newgen Imaging Systems (P) Ltd. as a Project coordinator in HarperCollins Department. Initially, I was thinking that I can lead a team only if I know the basics of all the processes in typesetting, but I was not sure whether it’ll be possible, and all of a sudden this training program came to my surprise. Now, I’ve joined the ‘One Member Cell’ training program. I would like to thank each and everybody individually who had faith in me for giving such a wonderful opportunity. My hobbies are to listen to Ilayaraja songs and to watch cricket. I’d like to spend more time with my family and friends.

The moment I heard that I was selected for COE, my joy was boundless and I felt like flying in the air. As I thought that I would meet some great people and gain more confidence, and it happened. I could meet new faculty members (trainers) who are really experts in their own field and getting training from them is absolutely valuable. They impart new skills and share their experiences with us. I am being given training to groom myself in various areas like, technical and soft skills (e.g., personality traits, language, self-management, leadership and optimism). I find this training very informative and it will have a great impact on me and I feel like I’m in the second phase of my career.
If I wasn’t given an attempt to write this COE qualifying test, I would have really missed something BIG.

Drawing makes me think creatively. And I am also interested in collecting birthday dates from my friends in order to wish them.
A life without an ambition is like a ship without a rudder. My ambition is to be a successful man in life. Basically I am from a middle class family and so I want to change the life style of my family. To achieve my goal I have got a great opportunity to take part in COE.
Three years ago I went to the tourist spot Hogenakal falls with my family and relatives. While feeling the beautiful climate my cousins Sathish, Thangavel and I decided to swim in the river. I told them not go too far from the bank, but after some time we were shocked and didn’t know what to do, because we had gone very far and we didn’t know swimming. All these were watched by one boatman who got into action, with the help of his boat (parisal) and saved my cousin’s life. Then we felt sorry for the mistake but thanked the boatman whose name was Ramu and as a token gave him hundred rupees.

My name is K. Dilip, and before getting selected for COE, I was working as a Customer Support Executive in Journals. I was born in Palakkad, brought up in Jamshedpur in North India, returned again to Palakkad for my degree and came to Chennai for job opportunities. I feel I have been lucky to experience different cultures due to my staying in three different places for substantial periods of my life, and cultures prevalent there have influenced my lifestyle in subtle ways. I wish I could have stayed in West and East India too; that would have completed the “Incredible India” experience! Sports has always been an important factor of my life, be it a form of entertainment or as a leisure activity. My personal opinion is nations with great sporting cultures develop better citizens as their outlook towards life is more broad-minded. I struggle to find time nowadays for my other leisure activities such as reading fiction books or drawing.
Regarding COE, the moment it was announced, as with all thoughts we have in hindsight, one is tempted to wonder why such a course did not come up before. With its varied pool of talent it has all the makings to be a successful venture. For the moment though we are keeping our senses open to grasp as much knowledge as we can!
